Difference between daybed comforter set and a twin comforter set?
We bought my 13yr old niece a daybed and are having a hard time finding a reasonably priced comforter set. What is the difference between a daybed comforter set and a twin comforter set? Can a twin set be used on daybed? Do hyou use twin sheets on a daybed?
I have bought both. A daybed comforter set is different from a twin comforter set. The daybed set usually includes 2 or 3 pillow shams for the pillows that go across the back of the daybed. (Twin sets generally have just one. So if you buy a twin set, you won’t have enough pillow shams.) In addition, for a daybed comforter, the sides of the comforter (the parts that drop to the floor) are on the two short ends and one long end. In a twin comforter, the sides are on one short end (the foot of the bed) and the two long sides. A daybed uses a normal twin sheet.
If you try to use a twin comforter on a day bed, you’ll have one short side that won’t have the fabric that drops to the floor. And you’ll have extra fabric along the back of the daybed that you’ll have to try to tuck in. It’s possible to use a twin comforter on a daybed; the top will fit fine, but the side panels won’t be on the correct sides.
